NetSuite v11 Released

NetSuite started rolling out its latest version of the award-winning software starting in April. This is a rolling release and more customers each week are finding themselves with pleasant new changes to the system. The new version incorporates a fresh new layout with several improvements to it's ability to be customized.

NetSuite Embraces AJAX for a New Customer Experience

AJAX, or Asynchronous JavaScript and XML, is a new web development technique for creating more interactive and responsive web pages. While many are still trying to grasp just how this will affect their websites, NetSuite has charged ahead and redesigned their user interface around this technology. The results have been big acclaim from reviewers and a better experience from users.

 

Suite Wars

Amidst buzz about its plans to file an initial public offering (IP0) later this year, NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson has taken the wraps off a new marketing push designed to catapult it to the number one position in the small and medium business (SMB) integrated business suite market. With its Suite Wars Initiative, launched April 5, NetSuite is challenging rivals with its major differentiator-its ability to deliver integrated front office, back office and e-commerce solutions for SMBs in a software-as-service (SaS) model.

 

Salesforce.com Chokes!

How do you screw up the big one? Leave it to Salesforce.com. After migrating to a new data center in late 2005, Salesforce.com customers immediately began noticing performance issues and loss of service. Initially CEO Marc Benioff claimed that this was not a fault of any one vendor and that no finger pointing would be done. However, within weeks he had pointed to a problem with their switches after VP Bruce Francis had already claimed it was an undocumented bug in Oracle's database. Previous to that, Salesforce.com had guaranteed Cisco Systems a full 10,000 seat implementation in 2004, and by late 2005 had yet to make good on their promise.

 

NetSuite Beats SalesLogix and MAS 90

NetSuite's on-demand architecture continues to be the model to follow. According to a new TCO study by analyst firm Yankee Group, NetSuite's on-demand offering was significantly less expensive over a three and five year period when compared to a combination of SalesLogix and MAS 90. Needless to say Sage/Best/SalesLogix (whatever their name is these days!) wasn't happy. Here's what the press had to say:
